DALE E. BARTH ELECTRICIANS PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP
SELECTION OF RECIPIENT
Applicants for the Dale E. Barth Electricians Program Scholarship shall complete an online application through Northeast Community College by March 1. A high school transcript must be included.
Northeast Community College will contact the Stanton County Public Power District regarding any applicants for the scholarship. For each applicant, Northeast will provide a copy of the scholarship application, the high school transcript provided by the applicant, and any relevant comments or information from the Northeast Financial Aid office. These must be received by March 20.
The applicant’s parent or legal guardian must be a resident ratepayer of the Stanton County Public Power District.
SCPPD will sponsor no more than one scholarship per academic year.
The SCPPD Selection Committee, comprised of the Stanton County Public Power District Board of Directors and General Manager, will review information submitted for each applicant and determine the scholarship recipient.at a regular meeting of the Board of Directors. Northeast Community College Financial Aid representatives may be invited to attend this portion of the meeting.
SCPPD staff will notify Northeast Financial Aid Office of the Board of Director’s decision by March 31. Individual applicants will be notified within a reasonable time frame thereafter.
CRITERIA FOR DISBURSEMENT:
A Northeast faculty member will evaluate the scholarship recipient at the start of the second semester of each year of the program. The student must be in good standing with Northeast, maintain a minimum overall average GPA of a “B” or the “equivalent number grade”, and show academic promise. Upon receipt of this evaluation and information by SCPPD confirming these conditions are met, the disbursement will be as follows:
|Disbursement check at start of second semester freshman year, payable to Northeast Community College Foundation||$500|
|Disbursement check at the start of second semester sophomore year, payable to Northeast Community College Foundation||$500|
|Disbursement check upon successful completion of the course, payable to recipient||$1,000|
